It was our first time here and wanted to celebrate the upcoming holidays with a very special friend. We were both so excited to finally try this restaurant because we had heard so many great things about it. We started with a warm spinach salad and the onion tart. Both were very good. The entrees arrived and I could tell visually that her dish was piping hot and it looked too good to eat. My dish was equally stunning but obviously not nearly the same temp. In fact, my short ribs were barely warm. They were also too fatty to be enjoyable and lacked in any flavor whatsoever. To make matters worse, the mashed potatoes were prepared with an obscene amount of salt. The vegetables were nice and unfortunately the highlight of my meal. This is obviously a one sided review because the chicken was nice but I will let her review that dish. To end on a high note, the ambiance was very nice and the service was top notch. I would give it a 2nd try but with so many other amazing places to visit in Carmel, it will be a while before that happens.
